A check-up and clean is the foundation of good dental health. We examine your teeth and gums thoroughly, note anything worth watching, and remove the plaque and tartar that everyday brushing simply can’t reach.

It’s also the appointment where we catch the small things early, like a hairline chip, the beginning of a cavity, or a spot of gum inflammation, long before they turn into something that needs bigger, more expensive treatment.

What to expect

Most appointments take around 45 minutes. We’ll talk you through anything we find in plain language, with no jargon and no pressure, and keep clear records so you can see how your dental health changes over time.

You’ll leave with a clean, healthy mouth and a simple plan for keeping it that way. If anything needs following up, we’ll set it out clearly, including the cost, before you decide on anything.

How often should I visit?

For most people, a visit every six months keeps everything on track. If you’re more prone to gum problems or staining we might suggest coming in a little more often, and we’ll always explain exactly why.
